If you are concerned about the driving safety of a mature driver, Therapy Achievements can provide a comprehensive Driving Evaluation to identify safety risk factors and put in place strategies to maximize driving safety.

At Therapy Achievements our goal is to help people drive safely for as long as possible. Toward that end, we provide Driving Evaluations and Adaptive Driving Training:

Driving Evaluations:

As people age, changes in physical abilities, vision, reaction time, and memory can interfere with safety for driving. Our Driving Evaluation identifies what, if any, changes have occurred due to aging or disability and the impact those changes have on safety for driving. The evaluation includes a clinical assessment of vision, visual perception, strength, endurance, range of motion, sensation, speed of processing, and divided attention as well as an On-The-Road assessment of driving abilities. Recommendations are made regarding a person’s ability to continue driving and what, if any, adaptive equipment or restrictions are needed to improve safety.

Adaptive Driving Training:

People who have suffered paralysis from stroke or spinal cord injury and people who have lost sensation in limbs or lost the limbs due to neuropathy or amputation may still be able to safely drive using adaptive equipment. Therapy Achievements provides evaluation and training in use of hand controls, left gas accelerator, steering knobs or other adaptive equipment to enable continued safe driving.
